Cecil Morris Murray was born August 01, 1931, in Clarksburg, MS to Clifton Murray and Frances Murray. He is the youngest of four siblings. He was a member of the Pelahatchie American Legion Post 296, a Mason and a Shriner. Cecil was self-employed for 30 years in the hosiery business. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving eight years; he served in the Korean War, Europe, and North Africa. He attended School at Forest, MS and Pelahatchie, MS. He attended East central Jr. College in Decatur, MS. Cecil was a devoted Christian having made his Christian commitment to the Lord at age 11 at the Forest Methodist Church. At the time of his death, he was a member of Crossgates United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Earlene Lindsey; son, David Murray of Clinton, MS; and daughter, Cecilia Murray of Brandon, MS. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Frances Murray; and siblings, Viola Blount, Charles Murray and Gail Murray.
Visitation will be 9am until 10:45am Monday, September 19, 2022, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Services will follow in the chapel. Interment will be in the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton, MS.
