Obituary

It is with tremendous grief that we share the news of the passing of our beloved matriarch, Nellie Jo Allen (born May 8, 1948) on 11/2. This day has been dreaded for some time while she dealt with numerous health issues, but through pure determination she managed to hang on for a little while longer giving us all more time with her. What a life that has passed. Filled at times with tragedy and hardship but mostly with love and laughter. Despite everything she suffered, she kept an amazing outlook and never complained. She exemplified resilience, hard work, and devotion. She was always there when you needed her and even when you didn't. No one was a better cook or baker, and none of us will eat quite the same again without her. She is survived by her sister Pam McMichael, daughter Lori McCabe, grandchildren Danielle Brown, Amanda McCabe, Michael McCabe, Justin Williams, and great grandchildren Maddox Errante and Wyatt McCabe. She was preceded in death by her daughter Terri Williams, husband Larry Allen, mother Helen Martin, sister Brenda Walker, and brothers Steve and David Martin. If you were lucky enough to be loved by her, you knew there were no lengths to which she would not go for you. Her laughter will fill our hearts and our memories for the rest of our days. She famously instructed us to put the "fun" in funeral, so please join for a celebration of her well-lived life on Saturday November 7th at Ott & Lee Funeral Home 1360 W Government St. Brandon, MS 39042 from 1-3pm.
