Ottis Cooksey

Ottis Paul Cooksey, 77, of Lake, died Monday, May 30, 2022, at Mississippi Care Center in Morton. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Sharon Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Lake, with Bro. Ken McLemore officiating. Ott and Lee Funeral Home of Forest is in charge of the arrangements.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Dorothy Cooksey, his brothers, Red Cooksey, Billy Cooksey, and Jimmy Cooksey, and his sisters, Dot Bounds, Doris Thompon, Cookie Pearson, Clydene Bolton, and Daisy McDonald.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 58 years, Linda Cooksey, his son, Paul Cooksey (Melissa), his daughter, Lynnetta Cooksey, his grandchildren, Kalee Cooksey, Zach Cooksey (Holly), Morghan Renfrow, and Jake Cooksey (Becky), nine greatgrandchildren, Miranda, Hayley, Aleigha, Anderson, Sadie Kate, Eli, Christopher, Dominic, and Haddie Claire, and his sisters, Pam Collins and Gail Tarver.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Lake. He will be remembered for his love of his family, his friends, fishing, and talking to anyone who would listen.
