Omega Tullos Stephens

September 1, 1945 — June 18, 2023

Omega Tullos Stephens, 77, passed away Sunday June 18, 2023 at her residence in Brandon. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 20, 2023 from 5-8 pm at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 11 am Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Park Place Baptist Church in Pearl with interment in Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon. Dr. John T. Brock, Dr. Keith Grubbs and Rev. John G. Brock will officiate.

Omega Stephens was born September 1, 1945 in Raleigh, MS to Theron and Lauretta Tullos. She spent her early years in Mize, MS before the family moved to Pearl, where she graduated from Pearl High School as class salutatorian. She met and married the love of her life, Allen Stephens, and they spent 54 years serving the Lord together in their marriage until his passing in 2020. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, dedicated pastor's wife, and beloved friend. She served faithfully alongside her husband as he pastored churches in Braxton, MS, Biloxi, MS, Ferriday, LA, Jacksonville Beach, FL, and Richland, MS, and as he served as the Executive Director of Rankin County Baptist Association for 25 years. Most of her years were spent as a homemaker, but she worked outside the home for a few years, most notably at First Presbyterian Church in Jackson where she made many treasured friends and was the first non-church member to be awarded the Women in the Church Lifetime Membership.

Omega was a committed Christian and a faithful member of Park Place Baptist Church in Pearl for almost 30 years, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, participated in women's ministry, and was involved in many other ministries.  She especially loved being a part of Paul Lee's Sunday School class.  Spreading the gospel through missions was very important to Allen and Omega.  They went on several mission trips to Ukraine, Romania and China together, and supported ministries around the world.

She is survived by her daughters, Shanda Stephens and Ashlee Gregory, son-in-law Michael Gregory, grandchildren Jedd and Ava Hutton Gregory, sister Katherine Brock (John), sisters-in-law Sarah Rawson (Hoyt) and Jane Stephens, niece Jana Grubbs (Keith), nephews John Brock (Charman), Hubbard Stephens (Angie), Dudley Stephens (Stefania), Walt Stephens (Missy), and Matt Stephens (Amy), and several great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Johnathan Brock, Jason Bryant, Caleb Grubbs, Jeff Rimes, Hubbard Stephens, and Matt Stephens.

Memorials may be made to the Allen Stephens Mission Fund at Park Place Baptist Church (5701 Hwy 80 E, Pearl, MS 39208) or the Allen Stephens Scholarship Fund at Rankin County Baptist Association (200 Park Place Drive, Pearl, MS 39208, with a note on the memo line).
