Oliver Shipp

Joseph Shipp, age 64, and a resident of Brandon passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at St. Dominic’s Hospital. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS handled arrangements.

Joseph was born to his parents, Oliver Elmo and JoAnn Shipp. He was a longtime employee at Mississippi Blood Services. He enjoyed fishing, taking trips to the “yellow house” and playing the drums. Joseph will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his daughter Kristen (Frank) Longo and his sisters Gale Jamison (Richard), and Valerie Henry (Bobby). He is also survived by his partner Lisa Shipp and her two children Matthew Kilpatrick (Aimee), and Shanna Hill (Brad). He also leaves behind many family members who all love and miss him dearly.

A family memorial service will be held on Friday, February 19, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in Swiftown, MS. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to Mississippi Blood Services or the American Red Cross.
