Mrs. Sybil Settlemire
Mrs. Sybil Settlemire, age 92, a resident of Morton passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023 at Specialty Hospital in Meridian. Visitation will be held 11am-2pm Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Morton United Pentecostal Church. Services will be held at 2pm Saturday at the church with burial in Morton Memorial Gardens with NO Graveside service. Bro. Nathan Morales and Bro. Barron Price will officiate the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mrs. Settlemire was born in Leake County on April 14, 1930. She loved the Lord and was a active member of Morton United Pentecostal Church until her health failed. Sybil loved her family and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, R.C. Settlemire; parents, Dan Watkins and Effie Sistrunk Watkins; son, Jimmy Settlemire; grandchildren, Moses Tuttle and Jennifer Settlemire; siblings, Linzy Watkins, Arnold Watkins, Dollie Mooney, Katie Brewer, Tishie Purvis, Bonnie Measells, Ollie Settlemire and Willie Mae Neese.
She is survived by her children, Cecil Settlemire of Morton, Glenn Settlemire (Peggy) of Ellisville, Janie Tuttle (Leon) of Morton, Randy Settlemire (Merlene) of Morton, Johnny Ray Settlemire of Morton and Teddy Wayne Settlemire of Morton; sister, Jeanette Beckham of Escatawpa; a host of grands, great grands and great-great grands and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and friends.
