Mabron “Gene” Hill passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021.  His passing was peaceful with his loving wife by his side.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 21 from 4pm – 7pm at the Ott-Lee Funeral Home in Brandon.  A graveside service will be Thursday, April 22 at 1:00pm at the Louisville Memorial Garden Cemetery, Louisville, Mississippi.

Gene, a resident of Brandon, was born November 29, 1937, in Louisville, Mississippi.  He is survived by his wife Doris “Ann” Hill; daughter Donna Gnotek (Tony) of Saginaw, Michigan; son Scott Hill (Kimberly) of Phoenix, Arizona; two grandchildren, Amy MacDowell (Connor) of Peoria, Arizona, and Ryan Gnotek of Saginaw, Michigan; two great grandchildren, Hudson and Harper MacDowell of Peoria, Arizona; and two brothers, Donald Hill and Dr. David Hill both of Brandon, Mississippi.

Gene was preceded in death by Jiles Aubrey Hill (Father), Bertha Mae Blancey Hill (Mother), and Jiles Eurial Hill (Brother) of Louisville, Mississippi.

Gene attended Bond and Louisville High Schools in Louisville, Mississippi and went on to Jacksonville University, Jacksonville, Florida where he graduated with Honors earning a degree in Accounting.  He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1955 to 1959 and the U. S. Naval Civil Service, Jacksonville, Florida from 1959 to 1970.  He was employed with the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a Special Agent from 1970 to 1990 and a Special Investigator from 1995 to 2008, with assignments in Dallas, Texas; Saginaw and Detroit, Michigan; and Jackson, Mississippi.  After retirement from the FBI, he worked to form the first Investigative Division of the Mississippi Gaming Commission and the first Internal Audit Division for the Mississippi Department of Corrections.  He was also a 50+ year member of the Masonic Lodge No. 75 F&AM in Louisville, Mississippi.

While in the Air Force he met his partner in life, Doris Ann Sharp.  They married on October 19, 1958.

Throughout his life he was active in his passions; wrestling, Judo, fishing and competitive bodybuilding/weightlifting where he has many Wins including Mr. Florida in 1962 and Mr. Southern United States (Masters Division) at the age of 53.  Throughout his life journey, his primary loves were his family and his dogs, Toby and Katie.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the skilled nursing staff at St. Catherine’s Village for taking such good care of him during his time with them.  Foremost, we are thankful for the love and support provided by Lisa (Gene’s “adopted” daughter) and Allen Lawrence.   We are eternally grateful for their love and sacrifice which enriched his sunset years.
