Kenneth Garrett

Kenneth Leroy Garrett, 64, departed this life on April 3, 2021, while in Brandon Nursing and Rehab after a long battle with Dementia and Parkinson Disease.  Kenny was born March 25, 1957, in Patuxent River Naval Hospital in Maryland to Reginald Leroy Garrett and Linnie Burnita Roberts Garrett.  Kenny graduated from Pearl High School in 1975.  Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Garrett. Kenny is survived by his mother, Nita Roberts Garrett and brother Thomas Glenn Garrett, both of Pearl, MS.

He worked on tugboats, and in the oil and gas industry until his health kept him closer to home.  During his time working in the oil and gas industry Kenny became a good friend to many.  Kenny always took the time to mentor the younger hands new to the industry to help in their development.

Kenny accepted Christ as his Savior at 12 years of age and was baptized at Southern Hills Baptist Church in Jackson, MS.  He later changed his membership to Parkway Church of Madison, MS.  (Raised Baptist, later changed to Pentecostal)

Kenny never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone.  Kenny always said and lived by “common courtesy is not common anymore”.  Kenny reflected this in his daily walk.  He enjoyed attending church when he could.  Kenny was a good son, brother and friend, he will be missed by many.

Bro Kenny Goff will officiate the memorial service which will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2021, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon,  MS.
