Jose Joaquin Lopez, 53, a resident of Brandon, MS, passed away peacefully on Sat. May 6, 2023 at his home surrounded by his immediate family as he so much desired, after a quick and very aggressive return of melanoma that metastasized into his lungs and liver. Visitation will be held on Tues. May 9, 2023 from 9am-10am at St. Paul Catholic Church in Brandon, MS. A funeral mass will be held at 10am on Tues. May 9, 2023 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS is handling funeral arrangements.
Mr. Lopez was born on June 3, 1969 in Puerto Plata Dominican Republic. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Brandon, MS. Mr. Lopez was also a devoted Past Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus. He has been in the baking industry about 35 years. He was very active in the American Bakers association. He graduated from American Institute of Baking in 1997. He spent 20 years in manufacturing and spent 15 years in Technical Sales working for Lallemand and AB Mauri. After working his way from the production line, he was named Vice President of Technical Sales in 2018.
His most cherished hobbies included loving his family and friends and supporting the New York Jets. He was known to be the life of every single party.
He is survived by his wife Lina Isabel Lopez; two children, Francisco Javier Lopez and Monica Maria Sullivan (Samuel); two grandchildren, Isabel Mae Sullivan and Laura Alice Sullivan; sister, Ana Navarrete (Jose Enrique); half siblings, Benigno Lopez Tigani, Miguel Antonio Lopez, Jose Manuel Lopez, Angel Lopez, Pamela Lopez, Jason Lopez, Michelle Lopez and his father Jose Manuel Lopez. Mr. Lopez is preceded in death by his mother, Isabel Helena Lopez; daughter, Isabel Christina Lopez and a grandchild, Samuel Cody Sullivan Jr.
