James Johnson

James Earl Johnson, age 80 and a resident of Morton, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at his home in the Polkville community with his wife at his bedside.

The Rankin County native was a retired diesel mechanic with Yellow Freight, Inc.. served his country in the United States Navy, and was a Shriner affiliated with the Wahabi Temple. He was a Christian by testimony of this faith and a member of Polkville First Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. His family was of top priority to him and loved his family, and always desired to please his wife. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Howard E. and Willie G. Lindsey Johnson and one sister: Bobbie Johnson.

Survivors include his wife: Wanda White Johnson; one daughter: Brandi Copeland; two grandchildren: Shanna Copeland and Haley Copeland; one sister: Mickey Bounds; two brothers: Mack Johnson and Lindsey Keene and a host of other family and friends.
