El Doctor Hugo Castillo falleció el 9 de Septiembre del 2021 en compañía de su familia.

Nacido en Lima Perú el 11 de Marzo de 1949, el quien fuera a pasar su vida en una variedad de roles: viajero por el mundo, ingeniero, hombre  hábil, conductor de gandolas, académico, filósofo, hijo, hermano, esposo, padre, abuelo y bisabuelo.

La educación para él(ambas, formal e informal) era bien importante y fue a ser el tema de su vida. El era determinado en sus metas con la cual incentivaba a sus nietos a leer y hacer bien en sus estudios escolares, y ampliar sus horizontes. Él se graduó en Ingeniería Química en la Universidad Nacional San Agustín de Arequipa, Peru, Después cuando vivía en Venezuela, el obtuvo una Maestría en Administración de Empresas. Y finalmente a la edad de 63 el obtuvo un PhD en Productos Forestales de Mississippi State University. El se propuso a enseñarle a sus nietos: si el podía hacerlo, ellos también podían hacerlo.

Viajar por todo el mundo también fue una de los temas de vida del Dr Castillo, como evidencia sus tres diferentes pasaportes: Peru, Venezuela, y Estados Unidos. Unos de sus notables logros incluyen manejar por toda la costa oeste de sudamericana y también por todo los Estados Unidos como conductor de gandolas.

Durante toda su vida el Dr Castillo vivió una vida simple, sin interés en lo material. El empujaba el pensamiento analítico y siempre tenía un proyecto que terminar, cual sea, mecánica de auto, refrescar sus memoria en matemáticas avanzadas, y carpintería.

El fue el hermano de Raul Rafael Castillo Morales, Yolanda Lourdes Castillo Morales, Yolanda Juana Castillo Morales, Jorge Castillo Morales, Luisa Elena Diaz Morales, e Hijo de Rafael Eudocio Castillo Acosta y Yolanda Morales de Castillo.

El también fue un esposo amado, padre, y abuelo. El es sobrevivido por su esposa de 47 años, Blanca Rosa; cinco hijos: Isela Escarleth (Gerardo), Hugo Alejandro(Teresa), Glenda Iliana(Silvano), Cesar Eudoxio, Jade Brenda Sarada; 13 nietos (Scarlett, Gerardo Jr., Aimee, Bianca, Kathryn, Samantha, Juvenal, Barbara, Mia, Omar Jr., Benito, Alejandra, y Reneé) y dos bisnieto (Ani’lah Rosa and Taylor).

Los servicios honorando su vida  van a ser hechos el sábado  11 de septiembre del 2021, en Ott and Lee Funeral in Morton, Mississippi.  La visita va ser de 1:30 - 3:30, con el servicio seguido a las 3:30. Todos son bienvenidos.

Dr. Hugo Castillo passed away surrounded by the love of his family on Thursday, September 9, 2021.

Born in Lima, Perú on March 11, 1949, he would go on to spend his life in a variety of roles: world traveler, engineer, handyman, truck driver, academic, philosopher, brother, husband, father, and grandfather.

Education (both formal and informal) was important to him and would become a theme of his life. He was a determined high achiever who encouraged his younger relatives to read, do well in school, and broaden their horizon. He went on to graduate with a degree in Chemical Engineering in la Universidad Nacional de San Agustin in Arequipa, Peru. Later, while living in Venezuela, he obtained a Masters degree in Business Administration. And finally, at the age 63, he obtained a PhD in Forest Products from Mississippi State University. He aimed to show his grandchildren: If he could do it, they could do it, too.

World travel was also a lifelong theme for Dr. Castillo, as evidenced by his three different passports: Peru, Venezuela, and United States. Some notable achievements include driving all of the west coast of South America and also the entire United States as a truck driver.

Throughout his life, Dr. Castillo lived a simple, non-materialistic life.  He encouraged critical thinking and was always tinkering on a project whether it be car mechanics, refreshing his knowledge of complex mathematics, or woodworking.

He was a brother to Raúl Rafael Castillo Morales, Yolanda Juana Castillo Morales, Jorge Castillo Morales, Luisa Elena Diaz Morales,
María Elisa Diaz Morales, Gonzalo Diaz Morales, Yolanda Lourdes Castillo de Herrada, and son to Rafael Eudocio Castillo Acosta and Yolanda Morales de Castillo.

He was also a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Blanca Rosa; five children: Isela Escarlette (Gerardo), Hugo Alejandro (Teresa), Glenda Iliana (Silvano), Cesar Eudoxio, Jade Brenda Sarada; 13 grandchildren (Scarlett, Gerardo Jr,  Aimee, Bianca, Kathryn, Samantha, Juvenal, Barbara, Omar Jr., Mía, Benito, Alejandra and Reneé) and two great-grandchildren (Ani’Lah Rosa and Taylon).

Services honoring his life will be held Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Ott and Lee Funeral in Morton, Mississippi. Visitation will be 1:30 pm  - 3:30 pm , with a service to follow at 3:30 pm. All are welcome.
