Eva Parks

Eva Laverne Parks, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died on May 30, 2021.  She had just celebrated her 86th birthday on May 6th.

A Graveside Service will be 10:00am Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Brandon Memorial Gardens.

Laverne was born in Louisville, MS on May 6th, 1935.  She graduated from Louisville High School and East Central Mississippi Junior College, and married Edsell Parks on August 31, 1956.  She was a loving wife to Edsell for 63 years.  She was a long-time substitute schoolteacher and also owned a business with her sisters.  She was an avid reader and bridge player and enjoyed going to garage sales.

Laverne was preceded in death by her husband Edsell and her three sisters (Dorothy Miller, Joyce Taylor and Marilyn Burnham).  She is survived by her children, Kim Duhs (Lindsey), and Tim Parks (Stephanie); four grandchildren, Reverend Seth Duhs (Roberta), Carlee Duhs, Zane Parks, and Colin Parks; and two great-grandchildren, Vivian Duhs and Iris Duhs.
