Doy Eugene Hood, 88, a resident of Flowood, MS passed away Monday, May 11, 2020.

Mr. Hood was born February 19, 1932 to Lawrence Hood and Florence McCann Hood. He lived his life in service to others and taught his children and grandchildren to do likewise. He served his church as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, adult group leader and Secretary-Treasurer, and if something needed to be done around the church, he was there to take care of it.

Mr. Hood retired from International Paper Company after 39 (?) years of service. He believed in hard work and loyalty to your employer and instilled this work ethic in those who worked under him.

He loved God with all his heart and showed that in both word and deed. He was the Rock of his family, a Rock that was anchored in faith in Jesus Christ.

Mr. Hood was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Hood and Florence McCann Hood; his wife of 67 years, Elizabeth Reeves Hood; 3 sisters and 3 brothers; daughter, Patricia Hood Wright and 2 great grandchildren, Bryanna Moxley and Aiden Hall.

Mr. Hood is survived by his children, Sharon Wilburn (Bob), Ron Hood (Jan) and Debbie Quimby; son-in-law, Jimmy Wright; brother, Wayne Reeves (Ann); grandchildren, Kristie Rodgers (Terry), Michelle Howard (Mickey), Bradley Wilburn (Shawnna), Michael Wilburn (Bridgette), Alicia Hall (James), Stacy Hood (Terry), Jonathan Hood, Joshua Quimby (Grit) and Brittney Nevels; 22 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
