A resident of Brandon for over 50 years and recently residing at St. Catherine’s Village, she enjoyed a full life of teaching, raising her daughters and grandchildren, gardening, volunteering, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. She graduated from Mississippi State College for Women with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She took a teaching job in Lexington, MS, where she met her husband, Robert Allan Legate. They were happily married for 70 years during which time they adopted and lovingly raised two daughters, Gayle and Keleigh.
