Mr. Charles W. Trest, age 81, a resident of Leesburg community passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, in Meridian, MS.  Visitation for Mr. Charles will be 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Tuesday, June 27,2023, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS.  Funeral Service will be at 1:00pm Wednesday, at Leesburg Baptist Church. Burial will be in Leesburg Baptist Cemetery.   Bro. Bubba Holifield, Bro. Danny Henderson, Bro. Ricky Kennedy, Bro. Don Lum and Bro. Billy Ray Parker will be officiating the services.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Charles was an avid fisherman, he loved many kinds of sports, basketball, baseball and football.   One of the highlights for Charles was going out to eat with his grandkids. He loved his wife and family, spending time with them brought him great joy. Charles loved the Lord and was a member of Leesburg Baptist Church for many years.  He served as a deacon of the church, loved singing and served as song director.  The legacy he leaves behind will be loved and missed by all that knew him.

He is preceded in death by, (Our daughter), Wanda Trest Wingfield Doster; (his parents), Mary Ruth and Charlie Trest; (my parents), Earl and Berta D. Squires; (brothers), Herbert and Jessie Trest; (brothers-in-law), Earl Smith, Jack Lamar Pope and (nephew), Tyler Gunn.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, 4 months, and 2 days, Earlene Squires Trest; his 2 grandchildren-the loves of his life, Trest and Maggie Wingfield; our bonus daughter, Myrtle (Dalton) McCarty; his sister, Charlotte Brien; nieces, Amanda King, Cherie Richards and Jan Davis; nephews, Mike and Tony Richards, Rodney and Stacy Trest; brothers-in-law, Buddy and Dottie Squires; sisters-in-law, Bettie Smith, Sarah Pope, Barbara and Clark Stewart; nieces and nephews, Steve and Janet Smith, Vickie and Tracy Phillips, Kim and Brad Shirley, Kolby and Kolton Gunn, Jason, Josh, and Sam Stewart, Lea and Bubba Holifield and Paul and Sylvia Smith; special friend and cousin, Wesley and Ann Parker; and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Wes Holifield, Jason Ivy, Kyle Dillon, David Parker, Josh Norris, Brady Harrell, Tim Gilbert and Brian Parker.  Honorary pallbearers will be Colin Measells, Weldon Smith, Ty Johns and Butch Myatt.

Memorials may be made in his honor to Leesburg Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, in care of Jean McKay, 601 Hwy 481 North, Pelahatchie, MS 39145.
