Brittany Walker

Brittany Walker, 35, of Mendenhall, MS, passed away peacefully at her home on May 30, 2021, after an intense battle with AML (Leukemia).  Visitation will be 12 Noon – 2:00pm, Friday, June 11, 2021, with her Celebration of Life Service following at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.

She was born to parents Kerrie Westbrooks and Kelly Carpenter in Morton, MS. Brittany graduated from East Rankin Academy, Pelahatchie, MS in 2004. She was married to Derek Walker in 2012. Brittany is survived by Kerrie Westbrooks (Mother); Kelly Carpenter (Father); Derek Walker (Husband); Jaxson, Lilli Grace, Mary Ellen, Mattie & Weston (Children); Chelsea, Kaylie, Sawyer, Larson (Siblings); Robin Carpenter (Stepmother); Tommy & Vickey Gordon (Grandparents); Jackie Nabors (Aunt); Angel & Larry Jennings (Aunt & Uncle), Mason & Mattix (Cousins).

Brittany was a makeup loving, selfie snapping, mama to 5 sweet kiddos! Wife to Derek. Saved by GRACE! (her description of herself in her own words). All she ever wanted to be when growing up was a wife and a mother. She was able to live that dream and has 5 beautiful children that were her greatest accomplishments in life. Her love for her kids was deep & unqualified. Each one of them carries the “best of her” and knowing that her legacy will live on.

Brittany was an original! She loved girly things and old school fashion. She loved lace, floral prints, bonnets, bows, & frilly shoes. Derek was “her person” and she wouldn’t have wanted to do life with anyone else. Kerrie, her mom, was more than just her momma, she was her best friend. She had strong FAITH in Jesus Christ, and never once was that faith shaken during her fight. She loved hard and with her whole heart. She was loved and cherished and an inspiration to so many. We are so thankful for the special gift she was to each one of us and for the privilege it was to be a part of her living story. Brittany was OUR WARRIOR! She fought a hard fight and now gets to rest in Heaven where there is no pain, there is no cancer.

Memorials may be made in honor of Brittany to Kirkland Hair Studio, 100 E Capitol St, Jackson, MS 39201, so that cancer patients may have the hair replacement solutions they desire.
