Brenda Mcneil

Brenda Carol Harrison McNeil, 71, of Brandon, passed away on Friday, August 26 at her home. Brenda was born July 26, 1951, in Philadelphia, MS to Margie and Charles Harrison.  She started school at Dixon Elementary and proceeded to Philadelphia City Schools and graduated from Forest High School in 1969.  She worked in multiple settings in the Jackson area and married the love of her life, Jerry Tom McNeil.  They settled in Madison, then later in Brandon.  They were married 39 years until his death in 2020. Their life revolved around church and their family.  Brenda was a member of First Baptist Church of Brandon, enjoyed her Sunday School class there and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She loved travel and especially enjoyed her trips to New York City. Brenda is survived by her mother, Margie Harrison of Forest, MS;  two children, Matthew McNeil of Brandon and Sarah Elizabeth Tadlock (Sean) of Florence, MS ; her very beloved grandchildren Jericho Stamatis of Oxford, MS, and Landreigh, Reagan and Gentry Tadlock of Florence, MS; siblings:  Sarah Elam (Bill) of Brandon, MS, Charlotte Cochran of Brandon, MS, Deborah Rushing (Johnny) of Morton, MS, Pat Harrison of Forest, MS, and Mary Charles Dickens (Britt) of Clinton, MS;  and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Charles Harrison, husband Jerry, and nephew, Scott Elam. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 31 at 9:00am at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS, with service following at 11:00am. Graveside services will be at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery, Highway 18, Bay Springs, MS.
