Bonnie Minton

Mrs. Bonnie Mae Minton was born in Rankin County on March 30, 1931 to her parents: Jessie and Wiley Franklin Babb; wife to Jack Crysler Lampkin and L.G. Minton; mother to Dian, Karen and Mark; grandmother to Toni, Jessica, Jack, Olivia, and Wyatt; great grandmother to Aaron and Levi; sister to Oscar, Jim, Fred, Jack, Jessie Ray, Sidney Paul, Annie Lee, and Betty Nell, and Dorothy; aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, and friend to many. She passed away on January 8, 2021 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson at the age of 89.

Over her lifespan, just shy of ninety years, Mrs. Minton will be remembered for her faith in Christ, Methodist by denomination, attendee of Branch Baptist Church, church goer and choir singer, who actively exercised her faith. She will also be remembered for her love for her immediate and extended family. Mrs. Minton enjoyed homemaking skills providing for those on the home front, and quilting, raising beautiful flower and bountiful vegetable gardens.

She is preceded in death by her two husbands; her parents; six brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her three children: Dian (Wayne) Seyler of Hoover, AL; Karen Lampkin of Morton and Mark (Jennifer) Lampkin of Pelahatchie; five grandchildren: Toni Buchanan, Jessica Seyler (Chase) Richardson, Jack Seyler, Olivia Lampkin, Wyatt Lampkin; two great-grandchildren: Aaron Boatner and Levi Boatner; one sister: Dorothy “Mickey” Prestage; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private family services are planned with preparations being made for a celebration of life service at a later date.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
