Bobby Ned Hutson

Bobby Ned Hutson, 88, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Ott and Lee Funeral Home will be handling arrangements. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Brandon Baptist Church, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., funeral at 11:30 a.m., and burial to follow at Brandon Memorial Gardens. Bobby was born on December 12, 1933, in Brookhaven, Mississippi to the late Robert and Nelsie Laird Hutson. Bobby was raised in McComb, Mississippi. He attended Mississippi State University and the University of Southern Mississippi. He retired from Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation. He spent 42 years in the military. He was a member of American Legion Post 68 in Brandon, Mississippi. He was a pilot of helicopters and fixed wing. He was promoted to Brigadier General in the Mississippi State Guard.
He married Sarah Valentine and they spent 38 happy years together. They traveled in their RV to all states except Hawaii and spent five summers fishing in Alaska. Traveling and serving with the Nail Benders was their mission work. They also enjoyed square dancing. Bob was a caller for their club, The Chimneyville Dancers.
Predeceased by his parents, son Wade, sister Joan Bland, brothers Tommy, Benny, Larry and Kenny. He is survived by his wife, Sarah; sons Robert Hutson, Jeff Hutson (Viktoriya), Brian Hutson (Angie) and stepson David Valentine (Jessie); eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Bob was a charter member of Brandon Baptist Church. He regularly attended Church, Sunday School, and Young at Heart. His Church family was the center of his and Sarah's life.
