Obituary

Mr. Billy Dale Shoemaker, age 66, a resident of Morton passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at St. Dominics Hospital in Jackson.  Visitation was held 12pm-1:45pm Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.  Graveside service was held 2pm Tuesday at Two Mile Baptist Cemetery.   Bro. Billy Ray Parker and Bro. Josh Smith officiated the services.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Billy Dale was born in Scott County on February 26, 1954.  He loved to garden and go metal detecting.  Billy Dale enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing.  He loved to play the guitar and sing.  His grandchildren were the apple of his eye.  He loved his family very much and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Shoemaker and Willie Mae Sumrall Shoemaker and daughter, Heather Lynn Shoemaker.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Shoemaker of Morton; children, Tracy Franklin and husband, Grant of Morton and Bridget Errington and husband, Aaron of Brandon; grandchildren, Cole and Kloie Franklin and Madison, Brooklyn and Kaitlyn Errington; siblings, Lillie Mae Wooten (Billy) of Morton, Ruby Nell Williams (Bobby) of Brandon, Gail Mitchell (Dennis) of Brandon and Charlie Ray Shoemaker of Morton; and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be  Pete Porter, Lester Yount, Tony Shoemaker, Austin Shoemaker, Bucky Williams and Dan Wooten.  Honorary pallbearer will be Jerry Shoemaker.
