Billy Joe Donald Sr., 90, a resident of Pearl, MS, passed into the eternal care of his loving savior, Jesus Christ, on Thurs. May 27, 2021.
Born January 11, 1931 in Monroe, LA to Hilman and Pearl Donald, who preceded him in death along with his wife of 63 years, Evelyn McGehee Donald and his sister, Myrna Donald Hinton.
Bill is survived by his four children, Beverly Donald (Luther) Carmical, Rhonda Donald Rogier, Billy Joe Donald Jr. and Paul Donald; his sisters, Hilma Donald Golden, Nell Donald, Mary Donald Adkins; six grandchildren, Taryn Garner (Kevin) Terry, Paul Donald II (Bridgett), Chanci Donald (Wendell) Helveston, Ryan Donald (Sarah), John Donald (Alli), Orrin Donald and 19 great grandchildren.
Bill made his home in Pearl, MS for the past 67 years and was a charter member of Grandview Baptist Church. He served as a deacon in his church for many years, was a Gideon, a member of John P. Byrd Masonic Lodge, York Rite Bodies, Scottish Rite Bodies, Wahabi Temple Shriners and the Order of the Eastern Star Pearl Chapter #384. Bill also served his country with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Most of all, Bill loved his God and his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather that worked hard to provide for his family. It was a privilege and honor for his four children to share in taking care of their father for the past several years of his declining health. He taught them well by his example.
Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Wed. June 2, 2021 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS with interment to follow in the Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS. Visitation will be held on Wed. June 2, 2021 from 9:30am-10:45am at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.
