Anita Phillips, age 80 and a lifelong resident of the Polkville community, died Saturday, October 2, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 10am Monday, October 4, 2021 from the Grace and Truth Church located at 1744 Shell Oil Road between Brandon and Puckett.
Visitation will be held from 5pm until Sunday, October 3, 2021 at the church and again Monday morning from 9am till service time. Rev. Marvin Phillips, Rev. James Hill, Rev, Isaac Powell and Rev. Barron Price will officiate. Interment will follow in the Piney Grove Cemetery under the care of OTT & LEE Funeral Home of Morton.
Mrs. Phillips was born in Ardmore, OK to her parents Leo Tipton and Louise Mitchell Tipton on April 15, 1941. She later moved to Mississippi where she made her home, met and married her late husband. Henry Phillips. She was a true matriarch to her family and a faithful Christian lady. She loved helping others, including her church, St. Jude Children’s Hospital and various children's ministries, missions,and prison ministries. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a woman who made the scriptures in Proverbs 31 come to life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Lloyd Tipton, a sister, Alma Bell and her husband, Henry Phillips.
Survivors include her son, Marvin Phillips and his wife Sandra of Polkville, 3 grandchildren; Vanessa Moore (Trey), Grace Powell (Isaac), Tracie Adcock (Frank), and adopted grandson, James Hill, and a legacy of 4 great grand-children; Maddie Moore, her fiancé’ J.D, Noah Powell, Hannah Powell, and Brylon Adcock.
Pallbearers are Trey Moore, J.D. Davis, Frank Adcock, James Hill, Isaac Powell, and Noah Powell.
