WILLIAM EUGENE “BILL” PORTER SR.

MORTON, MS

Mr. Bill Porter, age 61, a resident of Morton passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at his residence. Visitation was held 5-9pm Monday, August 22, 2011 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and Tuesday, 8:15am-9:00am at First Baptist Church Morton. Services were held 9am Tuesday, August 23, 2011 from the First Baptist Church Morton with Rev. Earl Clark and Rev. Mike Grenn officiating. Burial was held also on Tuesday at 1pm at North Union Cemetery in Eupora, MS.

Mr. Porter was born in Eupora, MS in 1950. He was a loving father and a devoted Christian who could always make a smile. He was just nominated to serve as a deacon at his church. Mr. Porter was always helping others and never asked for anything in return. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Nell Rivas.

He is survived by his children, John Porter (Naomi) of Pearl, Will Porter (Alesha)of Austin, TX and Lindsay Mosley (Corey) of Pearl; sister, Sandra Porter of Houston, TX; brothers, Paul Porter (Samantha) of Houston, TX and Alan Porter (Robin) of Orlando, FL; 8 grandchildren, Alexis Norton, Alexandra Porter, William Porter, Lillian Porter, Brayden Thames, Addison Mosley, Abigail Porter and Jordan Porter; his best friend, Bro. Earl Clark and a host of friends.

Pallbearers were John Porter, Will Porter, Paul Porter, Alan Porter, Mark Lumpkin and Jason Porter.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Morton, 80 Church St., Morton, MS 39117.
