William Lee Purvis

William Lee Purvis, age 78, a resident of Forest, MS passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.  Visitation will be held 1pm-8pm Friday, August 9, 2024 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and 9am-1pm Saturday at the funeral home.  Chapel service will be held 1pm Saturday, August 10, 2024 from Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial to follow in Springhill Cemetery.  Bro. John Goodhue will officiate the services.  Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton is honored to serve the Purvis family.

Mr. Purvis was born in Rankin County on January 15, 1946.  He was a truck driver for 20 years.  William enjoyed being outdoors fishing and riding the Dixie National Wagon Train.  He loved talking with friends, his children and grandkids.  Mr. Purvis had a fun personality.  When he was joking with you it meant he liked you.  William will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert C. Purvis and Rosalee Prestage Purvis; siblings, Bob Quick, Buddy Quick and Josephine Meadows.

He is survived by his two children, Tammy S. Smith of Pelahatchie and John K. Purvis (Kim) of Forest; siblings, Jimmy Quick (Norma Ree) of Brandon, Frances Harrell (Jimmy) of Puckett and Nettie Myers of Pelahatchie; grandchildren, Curtis Lee Smith, Brandin Lee Smith (Brittany), John Curtis Purvis, Priscilla Purvis, James Adam Purvis and Paula Ann Purvis; 20 great grandchildren and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Wiltcher, Chris Bufkin, James Bufkin, Gage Purvis, Travis Bufkin, Matthew Griffin, Andy Griffin, John Purvis and James Bufkin.
