William Jessie Powell

Mr. William Jessie Powell, age 58, a resident of Morton passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023 due to injuries from a automobile accident.  There will be a Memorial service held 10am, December 31, 2023 at First Apostolic Church in Pelahatchie.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mr. Powell was born on February 6, 1965 in Cullman, Alabama.  He loved the Lord and was a faithful member of First Apostolic Church of Pelahatchie.  William never met a stranger and he never had a bad word to say about anyone.  He loved to hunt, fish, camp and ride four wheelers.  William was a fire fighter for many years and was a heavy equipment operator.  He loved his church family very much and he will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Billy Jack Powell and Velma Mae Givens Powell.

He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Sherrie Powell of Morton; 3 children, Amanda Brown of AL, Keysha Brady of AL and Tyler Powell of AL; 4 sisters, Sarah Hoffman of AL, Clara Woodard of AL, Brenda Miller of Natchez and Janice Brown of AL; 5 grandchildren, Julia Brown, Karmen Brady, Krimson Brady, River and Ryder Powell; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lein and Greg Doyle; his church family at First Apostolic Church of Pelahatchie; and a host of many of friends.
