Mr. William Glen Shoemaker, age 65, a resident of Morton passed away on January 19, 2024 at MS Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be held 3pm-8pm Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton and Wednesday from 2pm-2:30pm at the funeral home. Chapel service will be held 2:30pm Wednesday from the Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton with burial in Morton Memorial Gardens. Bro. David Bryant and Bro. Robert Gatewood will officiate the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mr. Shoemaker was born in Scott County on July 2, 1958. He loved working on and restoring old vehicles. Racing cars was a favorite past time. He was a great carpenter and drove a truck for Dynamic Environmental Services. Family meant so much to him and he will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents Haywood Shoemaker and Mary Willie Arender; in 2021 a grandson , Jayden Lee Shoemaker and in 2009 a brother, Rickey Shoemaker.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ramona Cumberland Shoemaker; children, Wendell Glenn Shoemaker (Christy) of Raymond, William Lee Shoemaker (Niki) of Florence and Albert Eric Shoemaker (Nickie) of Morton; siblings, Linda Phillips of Morton, Brenda Guy (Roger Dale) of Morton, Angie Pilgrim of Morton, Joann Gatewood (Robert) of Morton and Junior Waggoner (Teresa) of Morton; 5 grandchildren, James Adam Shoemaker, Cole Shoemaker, Faith Shoemaker, Chloe Shoemaker and Madlyn Shoemaker and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Shoemaker, Eric Shoemaker, Adam Shoemaker, Cole Shoemaker, Curtis Smith and Brandon Cumberland. Honorary pallbearer will be Lee Shoemaker.
