William Earl Franklin

William Earl Franklin was born on January 31, 1944 in Houston, Texas and went to his heavenly home on September 7, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Jean Franklin and one of his daughter in law’s granddaughter. Franklin retired from Delta Airlines after 34 years of service as a computer trainer in which he traveled the world. He attended Mississippi State University. He was an avid reader and antique car enthusiast. Earl taught himself to play the guitar. He enjoyed playing in a couple of local rock bands in the 60s. Earl received a Red Cross accommodation for saving a man’s life using CPR at the Jackson International Airport. Earl enjoyed many years of snow skiing while living in Salt Lake City, Utah working for Delta.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Franklin, his son, Todd Franklin, Pelahatchie (Deana and her 3 children and 4 grandchildren from a previous marriage), his daughter, Paula Franklin, who resides in Pearl along with her mother, Sandra Franklin, also residing in Pearl.

Earl was a great father and would help anyone who needed it. He would go out of his way to help others. His love and knowledge of many things around him was helpful to those in his circle of life. He was beloved by many and a good friend to all he knew.

Earl married his soulmate and love of his life, Pam Franklin 8 years ago. He enjoyed working in his shop alongside Pam. They also enjoyed yard work together and watching sports of all kinds. He loved the Lord, his family and friends. His Sunday School classmates were special to him as was his church, where he served on the security team and sang in the Classic quartet as long as he was able.

Visitation for Earl will be at Brandon Baptist Church from 9:00 – 10:45 on Wednesday, September 11th. The funeral service will begin at 11:00. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, Mississippi.
