Bill Duchie, age 85, of Brandon, Mississippi passed into the loving arms of our Lord on July 20, 2024.
He was born in Vancouver, Washington on April 10, 1939, to Joe and Evelyn Duchie. He attended high school at Hudson’s Bay High School and received a degree in Chemical Engineering from Washington State University.
He married his childhood sweetheart Charlene Willis in 1959. Together they had three children.
Bill spent his career working for Shell Oil and retired in 1994. His career at Shell took him, and sometimes his family, to many places including Texas, California, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia and the jungles of Maylasia. Hobbies included genealogy, gardening, and antiquing.
Bill had a strong belief in God and lived those beliefs every day. His compassion, love and joyful nature were experienced by anyone who met him. He was devoted to his family, his faith, helping others and maintaining a sense of humor. Everyone that knew him will remember that sparkle in his eye that meant you never knew what to expect next.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Evelyn. He is survived by his wife and life partner Charlene, his brother (Ralph Duchie), his sister (Carol Neth), his daughter Debbie Ferguson (King), his son Mike Duchie, his daughter Jenifer Robles (Frank), his grandson Dustin Ferguson (Brandy), granddaughter Kirstyn Readman (Drew), granddaughter Gillian Robles and his great grandson (Jackson Readman).
Special thanks to the wonderful people that provided hospice care to Bill these last few months.
