Wiley Edsel Hopson, 90, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, July 2, 2010 at Crossgates/River Oaks Hospital in Brandon, MS. Visitation is Sunday, July 4, 2010 from 2 – 5 pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 10:00 am Monday, July 5, 2010 from the Chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Pelahatchie, MS.
Wiley Edsel Hopson was born on June 22, 1920 in Pelahatchie, MS to Wiley Martin Hopson and Vernoma Virdue Cox Hopson. He served in the U. S. Army. He was a longtime chicken farmer in Pelahatchie, and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mercedee B. Hopson of Pelahatchie, MS; nieces and nephews including Don Hopson of Harrisonburg, VA, Willis Hopson of Pelahatchie, MS, Carla Moore of Pelahatchie, MS, David Chastain of Brandon, MS, Vicki Robinson of Florence, MS, Carolyn Wynne of Brandon, MS, and John Chastain of Flora, MS.
Memorials may be made to the Antioch Baptist Church, Pelahatchie, MS.
