"Bo" Wesley Keeton passed from this life at his residence in Phenix City, AL on August 24, 2023. Aged 90 years, Bo was born on May 9th, 1933 to James Roland Ed Keeton and Delia Manus Keeton in Winston County, MS. Visitation for Bo will be held at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Forest, MS on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 from 9-10:30 AM, followed immediately by a chapel service and a graveside at Thornhill Cemetery in Pelahatchie, MS.
Bo Keeton is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Thelma Keeton. He is survived by 7 children; Bo Junior Keeton, Judy Kay Dennis, Wanda Kay Wells, Catherine Ida Stewart, Billy Joe Keeton, Johnny Wesley Keeton, and Elijah Desper; 20 grandchildren, and a truckload of great and great-great grandchildren.
Mr. Keeton was known to his family as a wonderful father and grandfather. He told enthralling stories of his life and times past and was wise beyond his years. He took any opportunity he could find to share his wisdom and instill in his children lessons about life. In his younger days, Bo could be found on the back of a horse almost every weekend, and participated in every rodeo he could get to. When he wasn’t riding horses with his kids and grandkids, he was on the bank of a pond fishing. Bo spent 54 years married to the love of his life, Thelma. He was employed by McCarty Farms as a supervisor for 40 years and was described as one of the hardest workers in the company. Bo never let anything hold him back. Though he had little education, Bo never let anything stand in the way of providing for his family. He was described as a self-made man, and no matter the obstacle, he always overcame. Bo will be missed by all that knew him.
Ott and Lee Funeral Home is honored to serve the family in their time of need.
