GRAVESIDE SERVICE 2:30 PM MONDAY, AUGUST 29, 2011 AT THE BILOXI NATIONAL CEMETERY
VISIT: 5-8 PM FRIDAY AT OTT AND LEE IN RICHLAND
Walter Roy Kennedy, Sr., 79, passed away on August 25, 2011, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be Friday, August 26, 2011 5pm until 8 pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Richland, MS. There will be a 2:30pm graveside service on Monday, August 29, 2011 at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
Walt loved NASCAR and was very involved in the Blind Veterans Association, MS Council for the Blind, Disabled American Veterans, and he was one of the co-founder of SRVC. He was also a member of the American Legion, Post 112 and the Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette W. Kennedy of Richland; children, Michael Kennedy, Fran Kennedy, Walter Kennedy, Jr., Thomas Kennedy; step children, William Stephens, Jim Edward Stephens, Christopher Freeman and Crystal Fayette and Amanda Case; sister, Alice Batchelor; brother, Bill Kennedy; and 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
