Mrs. Von Dell Rials Norton, age 90 and a longtime resident of Morton, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022 under the professional care of the staff at Mississippi Care Center of Morton. Funeral services were held at 11 am Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Springfield Baptist Church in Morton with Bro. Tal Vardaman, Bro. Jerry Lewis and Bro. Don Wilson officiating. Interment followed at the Springfield Baptist Cemetery. Visitation was held 5-8 pm Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and 10:00-10:45 am Wednesday at Springfield Baptist Church. Arrangements were under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home of Morton.

Von Dell was born in the Enterprise community of Lincoln County, Mississippi on February 7, 1932. She grew up in a close-knit family that instilled in her a love of family and family gatherings that she passed on to her children. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a seamstress, a bead craftsman and a gardener with a green thumb who loved spending time outside working in her flower beds. A member of Springfield Baptist Church for many years, she always enjoyed trips to nurseries and daylily farms with the senior adults.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Grady Henry Norton, her parents, Marcus Nicolas (Red) and Alma Lee Wallace Rials, and four siblings: Helen Givens, Bobbie Beeson, Joe Rials and Veta Grenn.

She is survived by her children: Jan (Kendell) Winstead of Morton, David (Kem) Norton of Byron, GA, Peggy (Marty) Phillips of Morton and Vickie Faulkner of Pearl. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Michael (Amy) Winstead of Medina, TN, Nicholas Winstead of Jackson, Stephanie Drake of Brandon, Amanda (Geo) De Leon of Land O’ Lakes, FL, Jessica Norton of Tampa, FL, Joshua Norton of Byron, GA, Tyler Faulkner of Pearl, Michaela Phillips of Morton, Stephen (Kristen) Burek of Byron, GA and Ashley (Warren) Perry of Byron, GA, her great-grandchildren: Ashley Winstead, Cole Drake, Katelin Drake, Paisley Hernandez, Parker De Leon, Jason Keen, Zander Perry, a sister, Bonnie Boyte of New Albany, a brother, Nick (Diane) Rials of Brookhaven, a sister-in-law, JoAnn Moak Rials of Brookhaven, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Arvin Givens, Bill Grenn, Mike Grenn, Buddy Rials, Johnny Rials and Billy Williams.
