Visitation will be held from 12pm till 1pm Friday, June10, 2022 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.
Interment will follow the visitation at Ephesus Baptist Cemetery.
Vernon Governor White was born and raised in Lake, MS. He was a graduate of Lake High school. Vernon had a 30+ year career with the MS Department of Transportation where he worked in the Newton Project Office. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Newton, MS. During his free time he loved hunting, fishing, and having coffee with friends at M&K (Now the Hornets’ Nest). He loved his town where he served on the board of alderman, was a volunteer first responder and participated in special events such as Lakefest.
He was married to his loving wife Miriam Barber White for 46 years. He is survived by his daughter Jenne White Pickering (Austin Pickering), granddaughter Katie McElhenney, sister-in-law Carol Barber, niece Cara Barber, nephew Chris Barber (Katie Barber), and two grandnieces Evie and Maggie Barber.
