Vernon Sessions Pleasant, Jr., age 66, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Merit Health River Oaks in Flowood, MS. A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
Vernon was born on June 22, 1954 in Jackson, MS and raised in Shaw, MS. He was a graduate of The Baylor School and the University of Mississippi. He farmed and had a cotton gin in Shaw for many years. He was an Eagle Scout, a member of Shaw Lions Club, Magnolia Fly Fishers and a former member of Merigold Hunting Club. Vernon was a true Renaissance man and was accomplished in all his varied areas of interest. He was a tennis player, hunter, musician, singer/songwrighter, sailor, cook, designer, gardener, audiophile, fly fisherman and world traverler.
He made friends everywhere he went and these friendships, which her treasured, lasted all his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sessions and Janie Pleasant of Shaw, MS.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sally Crutcher Pleasant; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Frank and Debbie Crutcher of Columbus, MT; nephew Russell Crutcher (Mary) of Arlington, VA; and many close cousins.
