Velma Burnham Vinson, 96, died Wednesday, April 07, 2010 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Services were Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon with burial in New Prospect Cemetery. Rev Donnie Stuart and Rev. George Owen officiated.
Mrs. Vinson was a native and lifelong resident of Rankin County and was a member of Puckett United Methodist Church. Her favorite pastime included sewing, quilting and working with her flowers.
Survivors include her sons, William Brent Vinson and wife Glenda of Brandon, Mike Vinson and wife Marty of Brandon; brothers, Carroll Burnham of Cato and Sidney Burnham of Brandon; four grandchildren, Brenda Murphy, Philip Vinson, Thad Vinson and Cris Vinson, seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Her husband, F. S. Vinson and grandson, Mark Vinson preceded her in death.
