Vadis Copeland Teer

Vadis Copeland Teer, of Brandon, Mississippi, passed away Friday, February 14, 2025, at her home at the age of 89. 

Visitation will be held at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, Mississippi, on Monday, February 17, 2025, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm with a funeral service immediately following in the chapel. A committal service will follow at 2:00 pm at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, Mississippi. 

Mrs. Teer was born on December 22, 1935, in Philadelphia, Mississippi, to Linerd Copeland and Effie Cumberland Copeland. She spent most of her adult life in the Jackson and Brandon areas, working at Deposit Guaranty Bank and the State Comptroller’s Office. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Brandon. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Paceley Teer, Sr.; parents, Linerd and Effie Copeland; and siblings, Verdis Copeland, Elvie Hudson, Edwin Copeland, Bernis Copeland, Delbert Copeland, and Arlon Copeland.

She is survived by her sons, Jack Paceley Teer, Jr., Michael Wayne Teer (Jo), and Kelly Copeland Teer; siblings, Mary Breland, Nancy Covington, and Prentice Copeland, eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
