In Loving Memory of Van Anthony “Tony” Henry

Van Anthony “Tony” Henry was born on January 9, 1963, and lived a life defined by faith, hard work, generosity, and an unwavering love for his family. He passed from this life leaving behind a legacy that will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Tony was a truly self-made man. Through sacrifice, determination, and an unmatched work ethic, he succeeded in life with his entrepreneurial spirit. He believed that success was earned, not given, and every accomplishment he achieved was the result of countless hours of hard work, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to providing for those he loved.

While he was proud of what he built, Tony never measured wealth by what he had, but by what he could give. He would give anyone anything he had and never hesitated to help someone through a difficult time. Whether offering a helping hand, sharing his wisdom, or simply being there when someone needed him, his generosity knew no limits. His kindness, compassion, and genuine concern for others left a lasting impression on every person whose life he touched.

Of all the roles he held, none meant more to him than being a father and family man. His family was the center of his world, and there were few things that brought him greater joy than watching those he loved succeed. He loved his family beyond words and was never shy about expressing how proud he was of them. His encouragement, unwavering belief, and unconditional love will remain one of the greatest gifts he ever gave.

Tony was also a man of faith. Throughout his illness, he faced each challenge with courage and hope, strengthened by his trust in God. He was surrounded by an incredible community of family, friends, and countless others who faithfully lifted him in prayer. The overwhelming support shown to him during this journey was a testament to the remarkable impact he had made throughout his life. The love poured out for him reflected the love he had spent a lifetime giving to others.

Outside of work and family, Tony’s heart belonged to racing. Cars, engines, competition, and working with his hands weren’t just hobbies—they were lifelong passions. Whether he was at the racetrack, in the shop, or talking about racing with friends, he found joy in every aspect of the sport. Racing was woven into the fabric of who he was.

Tony is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Henry; his devoted son, Jason Henry; his parents, Van and Sherry Henry; his brothers, Tim Henry and J.D. Henry (Lori); and his cherished nieces and nephews, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we are deeply thankful for the years we shared with him and for the example he set. His integrity, generosity, strength, faith, and love will continue to inspire those who knew him for generations to come.

For a man who spent a lifetime chasing the checkered flag, it seems only fitting that his journey ends this way. After a race marked by perseverance, courage, and faith, Tony has completed his final lap. The checkered flag has waved, his work here is done, and he has entered into the presence of his Savior. Though we will miss him beyond measure, we rejoice knowing that his greatest victory was not won on the racetrack, but in a life well lived and a faith that carried him home.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 5:00 until 8:00 pm and again on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 10:00 until 11:00 am at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am on Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow the service in Crestview Memorial Gardens.
