Tommy Powell, 89, passed away on Tues. Jan. 10, 2023 in Florence, MS. Visitation will be held on Fri. Jan. 13, 2023 from 10am-11:15am at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 11:30am on Fri. Jan. 13, 2023 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS with burial to follow in the Spring Ridge Methodist Church Cemetery in Byram, MS.

Mr. Powell was born on Sept. 6, 1933 in Biloxi, MS and was a former resident of Brandon, MS. He was a member of Brandon First United Methodist Church in Brandon, MS. Mr. Powell was a very generous man who supported many charities. He was also a beloved grandfather and great grandfather.

Mr. Powell is survived by his children, Wanda Shettles (Lewis), Keith Townsend (Leigh) and Beckey Hinton (Bob); sister, Patsy Woolington; five grandchildren, Christie Lain (David), Leslie Campbell (Scott), Paula Tuccio (Joey), Alissa Armstrong (J.R.) and Chris Hinton (Melissa); seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Powell is preceded in death by his parents, Dudley Powell and Elyria Latimer Powell.
