Timmie W. Welch, Jr., formerly of Brandon, 73, passed away into the Lord’s Hands, on Friday, August 19, 2011 at Madison River Oaks Hospital in Canton. Visitation is Saturday, August 20, 2011, 5 pm until 8 pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. The funeral service is 2 pm Sunday in the chapel of the funeral home, with burial in Oakdale Baptist Cemetery.

Mr. Welch was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church. He loved to fish and hunt, going to garage sales and watching sports. Timmie loved Christmas time and especially loved collecting Santa Clauses. He managed the biscuit booth at the MS State Fair for many years.

Mr. Welch was a gentle, caring person and an honest friend. He had a great love for his children and grandchildren, and was affectionately known as Uncle Bubby by nieces and nephews.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Simmons Welch; daughters, Tanya Preble, Sonya &(Mike) Blackwell; son, Steven &(Cindy) Welch; step children, Keith &(Dixie) Brown and Connie &(Roland) Perez; 2 sisters, Mary & (Bennie)Floyd and Joyce Mangum ; 11 grandchildren, Kristan Preble, Lauren & (Nick) Gunter, Zac Compton, T.J. Blackwell, and Benjamin &(Melisa), Brian and Christopher Eichelberger, Amber Epperson (Kevin), and Steven, Alex and Samantha Brown; 3 great grandchildren, Tucker Brown, Haylie and Kolton Eichelberger. Joycelyn Swilley Welch, his first wife and mother of his children and his parents, Timmie W. Welch, Sr. and Erna Meadows Welch preceded him in death.
