Steven Duane Wallace, 51, of Brandon, Mississippi, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, June 22, 2026.

Visitation will be at Brandon First Methodist Church on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm. Steven will be laid to rest in Brandon Memorial Gardens following the service.

Born on May 16, 1975, in Jackson, Mississippi, Steven “Cho” was a lifelong resident of Rankin County. Steven graduated from Mississippi State University in 1998. Following graduation, he taught and coached basketball at Pelahatchie and Simpson Academy before venturing into the insurance industry. In 2001, he opened Insurance Associates of Rankin County where he began his career of more than twenty-five years devoted to providing his insureds with personal, committed, and exceptional service. Steven valued his work and commitment to his clients.

While Steven loved his work, his greatest joy was his family. He met his wife Charity at a wedding in 1997, married in 1999, and life grew sweeter with the birth of their first son Reagan in 2002 and even richer when Wilkes arrived in 2009. It would be a definite understatement to say that Steven’s pride and joy were Reagan and Wilkes. His role as dad was one he cherished from day one, and he lived each day to be the best father, leader, and example he could for them. Hands-on from day one, he adored his boys. From the hours spent driving a crying newborn around to calm them to the hours spent on a ballfield coaching them he cherished those moments with his sons. A love of sports was always a part of his life, and he passed that on to his family. Whether soccer, t-ball, baseball, football, or basketball, Steven was always eager to assist in coaching teams especially recreational football for his son’s teams. He had no greater pride than watching his sons compete. Some of his fondest memories were watching them compete, including Reagan playing football at Brandon High School under the Friday night lights. He could not wait for this upcoming season to watch Wilkes as a player and Reagan as a coach at Brandon High School.

An avid outdoorsman, he cherished the moments in the woods especially those with his sons. Steven was also an avid Mississippi State fan. He loved attending and watching football, basketball and baseball games and cherished the time he spent rooting on the Bulldogs with his family.

Steven was an active member of Brandon First Methodist Church where he served in numerous capacities on committees throughout the years. He cherished his time on Sundays with the Breakfast Club Class and enjoyed serving the youth driving the bus and as a church league basketball coach.

Steven is preceded in death by his parents, Sandra and Willie Wallace, and his father-in-law, Danny Moseley.

Steven is survived by his wife of twenty-seven years, Charity Moseley Wallace; sons Reagan (Ellen) and Wilkes; sister Stephanie Walton (Jay), Willie, Ruby, and Cristina (Malik); mother-in-law Belinda Moseley; brother-in-law Ashley (Devin) Moseley, Reese and Madie; and sister-in-law Melanie (Steven) Rankin, Avery, Ella and Beck. He is also survived by Johnny and Jewel Carter, who blessed him with love and guidance for more than thirty years; best friend, Shane (Shea) Carter; Kim (David) Miller; Kerri (David) Clark; and numerous adopted nieces and nephews including great nephews Eli and Drew Stowers and nieces Stella and Edie Smith and Kate Russell Stowers.
