Steven Brian McCleland

Steven Brian McCleland, 65, of Brandon, MS was born on August 6, 1960, in Jackson, MS, to Kenneth and Edrie Sue McCleland. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Fran McCleland, as well as his brothers, Russ and Mark. Steve grew up in Pelahatchie, MS, graduated from East Rankin Academy in 1978, and continued his education at Belhaven University. He retired from Nissan in Canton after many years of dedicated service.

Steve passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 29, 2025. Services to honor his life will be held at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed immediately by a service in the chapel at Ott & Lee. Steve will be laid to rest at the Terry, MS Cemetery. Please note that there will be no graveside service. Family and friends are invited to Steve's home for lunch after the service.

Steve was a beloved father, brother, husband, papa, and friend. He cherished spending time with his family and friends, and his life was filled with joyful moments shared at church, in the kitchen, playing corn hole, watching movies, going on cruises, camping, and enjoying many other adventures. As a father, he especially treasured bonding with his daughters, Laurel Norris (Brad) and Merribeth Parker, and son, Collin (deceased). Becoming a grandfather to Aiden Parker brought him immense happiness, and he cherished many special moments spent with his grandson. Steve was a dedicated member of Crossgates Baptist Church for many years.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to AccentCare Hospice and Sarah Foreman, RN, for their compassionate care during Steve’s illness. A heartfelt thank you goes to Tamara Allen and Merribeth Parker for their unwavering support and care, being by Steve’s side around the clock whenever he needed assistance. Steve’s memory will forever remain in our hearts.
