Sawyer Megehee of Brandon, 21, died October 27, 2023. Sawyer was born August 29, 2002, in Jackson, Mississippi. He was a junior at the University of Mississippi. His love of math led him to major in accountancy. Sawyer loved on campus life at Ole Miss. After his freshman year he served as a community assistant in the dorm. He loved football and was an avid Saints fan. He really enjoyed eating oysters and thought everything tasted better with Tabasco or Cajun seasoning. Hunting and fishing with his dad were some of his favorite things to do. He shared a love of all things Harry Potter with his muggle mother. Sawyer was blessed to have a lifelong best friend in his sister Kelly. Sawyer is deeply loved and will be sorely missed.
Sawyer is survived by his parents Woody and Cathy Megehee and his sister Kelly Megehee. His grandmothers Ruth Megehee of Henleyfield and Barbara Downey of Brandon, uncles and aunts Carey and Caron Downey of Raymond, Cindy Raborn of Madison, Chris and Beth Downey of Brandon, and many, many cousins.
Funeral Services will be 2pm Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS, and visitation will begin at 12 Noon until the service. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery in Brandon, MS.
