Mr. Sammy Ray Welborne, age, 71, a resident of Bastrop LA passed away on Monday September 12, 2022 in Monroe, LA

Visitation will be Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Rehobeth Baptist Church Cemetery, with a Graveside Service following at the Cemetery.


Sam Welborne, age 71, a resident of Bastrop, LA passed away on September 12, 2022 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Monroe, LA after a lengthy illness.

On March 23, 1951, he was born in Oak Grove, LA to the late Nevil and Jimmie Louise Welborne.

In his early years of life, he found his calling.  It was to be an automobile and small engine repairman.  He was an avid Nascar fan and a country boy.  He was known as “Mr. Fix it.”  He had the gift and ability for an overall handyman.  He worked for International Paper Company in Bastrop, LA for 40 years.

Survivors include his wife, Kimberly Welborne; sister Barbara Wink and 4 furry canine children; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alton and Linda Laster.

Graveside service was held on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Rehobeth Baptist Cemetery at 11am and a short visitation was held at the cemetery from 10am-11am.  Bro. Max Smith officiated the services.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
