Ruth Ellen Rhodes, went to be with the Lord early Saturday morning, August 27, 2011 at Brandon Court in Brandon, MS. Visitation is 3 – 5 pm Sunday, August 28, 2011 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon and 10:30 am Monday, August 29, 2011 at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Pelahatchie, MS. Funeral Services are 11 am Monday at Shiloh United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Ruth Ellen Carter was born to the late Marvin Carter and Carrie Ellen Knight Carter on September 30, 1918 in Rankin County, MS. She was the widow of Henry Albert Rhodes and was a long time member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and had been a resident of Brandon for over 8 years.
The family would like to say a “special thanks” to the Staff, Nurses and CNA’s at Brandon Court and also to Providence Hospice for all your “special care”.
Survivors include her daughter, Connie Banes and her husband, Doug of Pelahatchie, MS; her sister, Ora Mae White of Pelahatchie, MS; three grandchildren, Michael Banes and wife, Nicole, Susanne Thompson and husband, Grant, and Stacy Banes and wife, Tammy; and eight great grandchildren, Austin, Mackenzie, Ashlyn, Bailey, Dawson, Landon, Olivia, and Presley.
