Ronny Odell Thornton, 50, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Crossgates River Oaks Hospital in Brandon. A graveside service was held
at Sharon Cemetery in Magee. Rev. Rob Yarbrough officiated.
Ronny was a native of Simpson County and a longtime resident of Rankin County and was a member of the Assembly of God faith. He was an avid outdoorsman and had a very loving heart and concern for people.
Survivors include his mother, Ann Thornton of Pearl; wife, Kathy Thornton of Brandon; sons, Christopher Thornton and Cody Thornton of Brandon; grandson, Jeremy Thornton of Pearl; brothers, Kenny Thornton and wife Liz of Florence, Joe Thornton and wife Cindy of Brandon; nephews, Brent and Joshua Thornton; uncle, Charles Ray Thornton of Richland. His father, Kendall Thornton, Sr. and nephew, Brian Thornton preceded him in death.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memorial Honor Program, 1 St. Jude Place, P. O. Box 1000-Dept. 300, Memphis, TN 38148-0552.
