Robert Christian Hansen (Chris), passed away on November 19, 2023, in Brandon, Mississippi. He was born on February 1, 1972, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Chris dedicated over 27 years of his life to education, leaving a significant impact on countless students throughout Mississippi. For 17 of those years, he worked with the Jackson Public School District. His commitment to his students was unwavering, and he approached his profession with immense enthusiasm and care.

Education played a significant role in Chris's own life as well. He completed his high school education at Father Lopez Catholic High School, where he excelled both academically and athletically.  Chris lettered in football and baseball while also serving as the president of his senior class. After high school, he attended Davidson College before transferring to the University of Southern Mississippi. It was at the university where Chris pursued his passion for learning and specialized in special education and administration. He earned his Masters in these fields and further cemented his dedication to shaping young minds.

Growing up in Daytona Beach, Florida, Chris found solace and joy in deep-sea fishing and was an ardent supporter of the Florida Gators. These were some of his favorite memories cherished with his late father, J.C. Hansen.

Chris was a very devoted husband and father. He enjoyed coaching, mentoring, and spending time with his children. He and his family were long-time members of the Brandon First United Methodist Church.

Chris will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his children Kyle Christian Hansen and Sarah Kate Hansen, his former wife, Shana Hansen, and loving mother, Barbara Jean MacGregor Hansen, sisters, Summer Davey and husband Mike, and April Hedrick and husband, Rod.  He is also survived by a niece and nephew, Kaelyn and Charlie Davey. Cousins, Joy Borresen, Joe Keener, and Pam Kern. In-laws, Roger and Sue Holman, Michael and Melissa Holman, and nieces and nephew, Jordan, Lora Grace, and Sam Holman.
