Robert Cecil Taylor

Robert Cecil Taylor, 84, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026, at the Veterans Nursing Home in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held at First Baptist Fannin on Monday, August 17, 2026, from 11am until 12pm. Funeral services will follow at First Baptist Fannin at 12:00pm.

Robert was born on May 22, 1942, in Laurel, Mississippi, to Larlene and Troy Taylor of Ellisville, Mississippi. Both of his parents preceded him in death.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Selynn Taylor Cusick; grandson, Austin Taylor Cusick; and siblings, Morris Taylor, Hershel Taylor, and Carol Davis.

Robert was married to the love of his life, Dorothy Herrington Taylor, for more than 50 years. Together, they built a life centered around family, faith, hard work, and love.

He is survived by his children, Sherry Taylor Cliburn and Trudie Taylor Harvey; his sisters, Diana Ward and Bobby Sue Boykin; his grandchildren, Austin Taylor Cusick, Haley Cusick Westbrook, Amber Harvey Massey, and Christopher Cliburn; and his great-grandchildren, Elijah Pierce, Noah Cliburn, and Rosalie Cusick.

Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1961 to 1964. Following his military service, he dedicated more than 30 years to the healthcare industry. He owned and operated Professional Building Services until his retirement. He also founded and operated a bush hogging company, including work in Cades Cove, Tennessee, a place and endeavor he was especially passionate about.

Robert was an active member of Fannin Baptist Church, where he faithfully served on various committees. His faith was an important part of his life, as was his devotion to his family.

In his free time, Robert enjoyed playing golf, traveling, watching westerns, and most of all, spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his hard work, his love of adventure, his service to his country, and the many memories he created with those he loved.

Pallbearers will be David Taylor, Danny Herrington, Donnie Ray Boykin, Wesley Pierce, Lonnie Harvey, and Chris Cliburn. Mike Cliburn will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

Robert leaves behind a legacy of love, family, faith, service, and memories that will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
