Nell Traxler, age 83, a resident of Morton passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022, at her home. Visitation will be held 10am-2pm Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Chapel service will be held on Wednesday, 2pm in the Ott and Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Hodge Hill Cemetery. Bro. Paul Smith and Bro. Joe Crane will officiate the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Ms. Traxler was born in Scott County on June 12, 1939. She loved working in the garden, cooking and taking care of her nieces and nephews when they were growing up. Nell enjoyed watching old classic movies. She loved the Lord and enjoyed going to church. Her family described her as, “a great Christian lady.” Nell will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Thompson and Susie Elizabeth Alford Thompson; siblings, Ernest Thompson, Jack Troy Thompson, Sybil Elizabeth Westberry, Jefferson Thompson, Austin Wayne Thompson and Otis Leroy Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her siblings, Sudie Mae Thompson of Morton and Oscar JW Thompson of Morton and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Don Cornelison, Taylor Cornelison, Scott Westberry, Brad Westberry, Lee Lyle and Blake Lyle. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Netherland, Michael Thompson, Jimmy Westberry, Jimmy Faggard and Randy Thompson.
Memorials may be made in her honor to The Shriners Children’s Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
