Ricky Dale Neal, age 75, a resident of Morton passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 10, 2023, surrounded by his loving family following a short illness.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 14, 2023, at New Liberty Baptist Church.  Visitation will be held at 9:00am, with a 11:00am Service  and a graveside to follow.  Bro. Paul Smith and Bro. Bobby McKay will officiate the services.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Ricky was born on July 22, 1948, in Mendenhall to his parents, A.B. and Ruby Mae Neal.  He was raised in Pearl and attended Pearl High School.  He joined the United States Airforce upon graduation.  He served from 1967-1971.  He married Sandy Bates Neal and of that union, two children were born.  He worked for ProPak with Nissan where he retired.  He and his wife were members of New Liberty Baptist Church.  Ricky was an honorable, strong, and loyal person.  He enjoyed woodworking, traveling and spending as much time as he could with his grandchildren.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, A.B. and Ruby Mae Neal; siblings, Alonzo Neal, Bonnie Bryant and Gary Neal.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sandy Neal of Morton; two children, Brook Holmes (Stan) of Raleigh and Cassie Haygood (Andrew) of Brandon; siblings, Pattye Heidelberg (Quince) of Pelahatchie and Danny Neal (Marcie) of Pearl.  He leaves a legacy of 6 grandchildren; one great grandchild; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Pallbearers are Stan Holmes, Andrew Haygood, Tommy Withers, Danny Neal, Shannon Bates and David Neal.

Honorary pallbearers are Robert Rogers and Darwin Shaw.
