Richard C Holyfield, was born on January 6, 1935, in Brandon, MS and he was very proud to call it his home.  He passed away on September 4, 2026, in Brandon, MS.

Richard will be remembered for his years of work and for the close bond he shared with his family. He and his son Rick started R & R Landscaping, Inc., where they worked side by side for many years. That time together in business reflected both his strong work ethic and the importance he placed on family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Gilmer Holyfield; his father, William Gaston Holyfield; his mother, Jewell Corley Holyfield; his brothers, Bill Holyfield and Wayne Holyfield; and his sister, Barbara McClure.

Richard is survived by his children: daughter Sherrye (Johnny) Ellzy, daughter Jan (Steve) Mills, son Rick (Terry) Holyfield, and daughter Barbe (Robert) Elmore. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.  May his memory remain a blessing to all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home-Brandon, 1360 W Government St, Brandon, Mississippi. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will take place at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, 4111 US-80, Pearl, Mississippi.
